Abstract
Over the past decade and under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) has steadfastly upheld the principle of single-party leadership and the governing philosophy of “people-first,” while prioritizing economic construction in its exploration of a distinct Korean path to socialism. In its pursuit of socialist construction, the WPK, under Kim Jong Un’s guidance, has led and empowered the populace to overcome challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, working for new developments in the socialist cause of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and a deeper understanding of the essence of socialism.
